COLORS OF TIME   (La Venue de l'avenir)
Saturday, Oct 10 and Sunday, Oct 11 at 2:00
Monday, Oct 12 and Tuesday Oct 13 at 7:00
Guest Speakers

We are delighted to have professors John Alberti and Gisèle Loiriot-Raymer leading our post-film discussions, on October 11 and 12 respectively. Both speakers have actively participated in the Tournées French Film Festival and the Albertine Cinémathèque Film Festival at Northern Kentucky University and UC Blue Ash.

In case you missed our previous announcements, Sep 11 and Oct 1, Colors of Time is screening exclusively at the Garfield, Oct 10 – 13. The original French title of Cédric Klapisch’s new film is quite appropriate, La Venue de l’avenir, meaning “The Arrival of the Future.”  Director Klapisch engagingly reflects on the links between past and present, showing how cinema can question the future by revisiting what came before.

An entertaining and sentimental family dramedy, Colors brings 19th-century Paris back to life, exploring how four contemporary Parisians are transformed when they uncover the story of their ancestor Adèle through photos, letters and paintings. Set against the emergence of technology, art and culture in belle époque Paris, it reveals the backstory of impressionist master Claude Monet and introduces other cultural luminaries of the era.

This warm, romantic and visually rich adventure scores 96% (critics) and 90% (audience) on Rotten Tomatoes. Not to be missed - you will enjoy!!

Adult tickets $10.00 advance, $15.00 at the door.
Student tickets $8.00 advance, $12.00 at the door.
