The Cat Video Fest presents a positive, humorous image of cats, capturing their endearing and sometimes goofy behavior and their relationships with each other, their humans and other animals. Created by Will Braden of Seattle, the annual Fest compilation is a fun communal experience that includes the latest and best cat videos culled from unique submissions and sourced Internet animations and music videos.
BONUS – an exclusive short video program, created by Cincinnati World Cinema with rarely seen, very funny cat videos from the CWC Vault !!
Save The Animals Foundation
We are delighted to work with STAF to help foster public awareness about the needs of cats and dogs in our community. Members of this all volunteer non-profit will be present at the screenings to talk about what they do and answer questions.
Since 1988, STAF has been making a difference in the lives of Cincinnati-area animals – and in the lives of humans who care about them. Run by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, STAF is a no-kill shelter for abandoned cats and dogs, operating two shifts daily, providing excellent attention and care for their furry population.
Volunteers are committed to giving every cat a lifetime of care and love, working with younger cats and kittens, and more mature and lap snuggling cats. In addition to individual attention, STAF provides all animals with a healthy diet and regular visits by dedicated vets.

DID YOU KNOW?
Watching cat videos may actually be good for you.
“After watching these videos, people tend to feel better,” says Jessica Myrick, who teaches in the media school at Indiana University. She recently published a paper on cat videos and their effects. “They tend to feel more content, more energized. And they felt less anxiety, and other negative emotions were dampened. It definitely isn’t a waste of time. It has psychological consequences.” Also, “Watching silly cat videos is good for you.” – The Wall Street Journal, Oct. 4, 2016
When we watch cat videos, we’re really looking for moments that remind us of ourselves.
Videos of cats sleeping and eating rarely go viral. “A vast majority of a cat’s life is not this,” says Museum of the Moving Image curator Jason Eppink. “What ends of up bubbling to the top are the specific moments that I think we see ourselves in instead.” Eppink says it’s that dichotomy that makes cats fascinating. “One moment they are just like us, another moment they are aliens.”
Many of the people checking out Internet cat videos do not consider themselves cat people.
But people and cats have something in common – curiosity. Eppink says that people are curious about the crazy things cats do and curious about why people find these videos so interesting.
