SLOW DOWN. Let go of the rush, noise and anxiety of life as it is these days. Connect with a beautiful and moving work of art – no dialogue, no music, no humans. Just the personalities, sentience and souls of animals. Mesmerizing and profound.
GUNDA chronicles the unfiltered lives of a mother pig and her piglets, a scene-stealing one-legged chicken and teamwork by a herd of cows, all with masterful intimacy.
Using stark, transcendent black and white cinematography and the farm’s ambient soundtrack, the director invites the audience to slow down and experience life, just as his barnyard subjects do, taking in their world with magical patience and perspective. GUNDA asks us to meditate on the mystery of animal consciousness, and by extension, consider the role humanity plays in it.
