CWC Privacy Policy

The Basics

Any personal information you give to us voluntarily, via website signup and interest form or event survey is treated as confidential and is NOT given, sold, rented, or traded to third parties.

Security:
Your name, address, phone number, purchase history, etc., are NOT uploaded to our website. If any low-life hacks our site, all they can get is what the world can already see – film event info, trailer links, maps, and directions, etc. We do not use Microsoft Server, which are notorious for vulnerabilities and mass hacking attacks.

Email Film Announcements:
We believe that less is better and we will not flood your inbox. We send you an initial film announcement and follow up with a reminder a few days in front of a given event. We may also send an update if an event is selling/sold out, there is a weather emergency or special circumstances. On average, we send about 18 film announcements per year, 1.5 per month. Compare this with other local theatres who send weekly or even more often.

If you are on our email film announcement list, you may opt-out at any time and removal processing is typically same-day. If you opt-out, CWC cannot change that status. We can send a resubscribe link, but you are the only one who can resubscribe.

CWC has engaged MAIL CHIMP, an independent ESP (email service provider), to maintain our email list, process film announcement mailings, and provide opt-in and opt-out services for list members. This ESP is a certified SPAM-compliant service company that rigorously observes the various regulations and practices pertaining to the ethical use of email. To further assure your privacy, we DO NOT store your financial info on the ESP secure servers.

IMPORTANT:
To avoid having CWC film announcements blocked by your ISP or network firewall, add this address to your Email Address Book safe contacts/friends list: worldcinema@fuse.net. Each email service has a variety of folder options for incoming mail – make sure CWC announcements do not go into a spam, junk or bulk mail folder.

TICKETING:
When you order with a credit card online via the Internet, or by phone via (859) 957-3456, Cincinnati World Cinema does not retain your credit card information as your order is immediately submitted to our ticketing service. Your CWC ticket transactions are handled by an independent and reputable ticketing service that processes your order and maintains your info on their secure server.  We receive your contact info, order number and number of tickets purchased when we download Will Call information for a given event, all of which is confidential. We do not receive or store any credit card account information.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We may use your contact information for four straightforward purposes:

• to periodically send you email announcements about our film-and-discussion events and/or significant developments within CWC
• to answer your questions and personally assist you with receiving film info, maps, and directions to film venues, or with the purchase of tickets for our films;
• to call you (if we have your phone number) to alert you to a problem with your online ticket purchase, an event postponement or cancellation, etc.
• to let you know when your email address repeatedly malfunctions, is dead or over quota.
