SMOKING CAUSES COUGHING
(Fumer fait tousser)

THE GARFIELD THEATRE
Friday April 14, 7 pm

Adults, $10 adv, $15 door.   Students, $8 adv, $12 door.

Over-the-top, surreal French sci-fi comedy…

A John Waters favorite — wacky, fun entertainment with a demented twist from the inventive master of misdirection — director Quentin Dupieux (Rubber, Deerskin, Mandibles, Incredible But True), with an all-star cast of French comedians.

Low-rent not-so-super heroes stumble through absurdist scenarios to save the world from destruction by the nefarious and inept alien Lézardin.  A talking barracuda. An erratic, suicidal robot. A wood chipper segment that rivals Fargo.

If you remember Saturday morning TV from the ’70-80-90s (Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Ultraman, etc.) or the mash-ups currently on TikTok or YouTube, you’ll be right at home with five improbable defenders of Earth clad in color-coordinated spandex track suits called the “Tobacco Force” who use the cancer-causing chemicals in cigarettes to vaporize their foes.
