CWC JULY NEWS:
New & Closing Films … Reopening Info … Covid-19 Changes

Hello Everyone,

Writing to share info about our virtual cinema and general status.

Please Support CWC by renting an online film for your household and by giving a film rental as a gift.  When you do this via a CWC link, we receive part of the proceeds – helping us stay afloat.  Quality cinema helps us remain a community that values and shares ideas, experience, and expertise.

CWC VIRTUAL CINEMA – NEW FILMS:
Ella Fitzgerald – Just One of Those Things.  A fascinating musical anthology, biography and history of the times of America’s First Lady of Song.
Shirley.  The Sundance Jury Award Winner featuring the amazing Elisabeth Moss as the tempestuous author Shirley Jackson.
John Lewis – Good Trouble.  The biography of Congressman John Lewis – a lion of social activism and the civil rights movement. Includes a timely post-film conversation between Lewis and Oprah Winfrey. Opens Friday, July 3, pre-order now.

☀ CLOSING FILMS:  As noted on the CWC website, several films have ended their CWC Virtual Cinema run at the end of the month: The Painter and the Thief, I Am Not Your Negro, Toni Morrison, Whose Streets, Slay The Dragon, RBG, Blackfish, Life Itself,  Hail Satan?, The Whistlers and Once Were Brothers.
Hope you enjoyed these diverse, quality offerings.

REOPENING INFO:  A discussion of factors involved with when and how we reopen the Garfield Theatre.

COVID-19 UPDATE:  The CDC recently changed risk group classifications, removing the age-alone factor for seniors. Be careful “youngsters” – the median age for infection is now 34 in Ohio.

STUDIO CANCELLATIONS & DELAYS:  An update to the growing list of first-run titles cancelled or delayed by the major studios. Also, in the face of growing infections and hospitalizations, the major chains (AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo, et. al.) have now made made in-theatre patron masks mandatory.

Thanks for hanging in there with us. Stay tuned as we bring new films to our virtual cinema and announce further details about reopening.
